Remembering those whom we lost !

I did not post any blogs on Vrikshamamdir for many months after 5 May, 2021, the day my mother left us on her journey to the place where she came from.

She would joke about her death saying; “Passport is ready. The day visa is stamped, I would leave!”

I also lost an uncle, son in law of an uncle, daughter of a cousin of my wife who left behind a four day old baby girl.

Each of us is destined to die some day.

Condolence messages were sent earlier also but not so frequent as during the Corona Times!

My grateful thanks to Shri G Rajan who helped me in compiling a list of our former colleagues from the National Dairy Development Board who left us during Corona Times and earlier (After 15/16 February 2020 the second meeting of former NDDB employees at Anand).

Rajan and I both realise that this list may be incomplete but the intent is to pay homage to all those whose names appear as well as to those whose names for some reason as on today do not find a place here. We will add more names as and when I get those. Rajan says he has a list of forty persons who left us !

This has been a calamity like of which we have not experienced.

Each day we get news of people falling sick, getting cured, dying, getting vaccinated, collapse of health system, black marketing of medicine, oxygen cylinders, ineptitude and incompetence of the ruling class irrespective of political inclinations.

Makes one feel sad and depressed.

Prolonged lockdown, education without class rooms, work from home, increasing reliance on digital communication and transactions would leave social, economic and psychological impact which will take a long time to understand and deal with………Then this talk of “New normal”.

When and how the new normal would normalise?
