Khushwant Singh@ 98 – (1915-2014)

I AM My silence

I AM MY silence. 1 am not the busyness of my thoughts or the daily rhythm of my actions. 1 am not the stuff that constitutes my world. I am not my talk. 1 am not my actions. 1 am my silence. 1 am the consciousness that perceives all these things. […]

My visit to Bhaukhedi was part of a small consulting project with ITC… […]

Luck Wears Many Masks: My Undeserving Days in Dr. Verghese Kurien’s Office

Talent vs. Pay. Deserving vs. Non-Deserving. Achieving vs. Failing. We love to debate these things as if success is a neat formula of hard work plus skill. But a couple of real incidents from my early career still make me laugh — because they showed me that even the greatest leaders know the truth: most […]

A Close Call with Fire

While in Gurgaon we live in a flat — or what the westerners call an apartment — in a multi-storey middle-class gated community having five towers in Sector 52, Gurgaon, not far from Huda Metro station. Life here is usually peaceful and routine despite the residents, RWA and builder engaging in never-ending disputes. But middle-class […]
