Mother Earths Agony

Dr. K.V. Raju, from the second batch of IRMA, who also taught at IRMA and later became the first Director of the Development Management Institute, Patna, shared a video on WhatsApp a few days ago. He is a dear friend of mine. I hadn’t opened it until today. Please click on this link to watch this video.

As soon as I heard the chant, I fell in love with it. The Sanskrit words are simple and can be easily understood by anyone who knows Hindi. But what left a deep impression on my mind was the simple yet profound eternal truth that the poem conveys.

Today, the media has given good coverage to a deplorable and crass statement and replies thereto . The context behind those statements and the poem shared by Dr. Raju is almost the same, but the meaning and approach clearly highlight the sharp contrast between the two ways of thinking.

What Hanuman says is truly worth pondering and acting upon:

“True strength does not lie in war — it is established in peace.”

Real power is not forged in the heat of battle. I sincerely wish and hope that the spirit of Hanuman ji prevails, guiding those indulging in violence toward the righteous path.

Hanuman’s cry

Chorus Repeat after each Verse and at the end

The wheel of war turns on without end,
Yet the path of Dharma fades from our sight. Mother Earth weeps in compassion’s embrace, While Hanuman ji ponders in silence and light.

First Verse – Game of Chess

On the chessboard of nations the pieces sink deep, Selfish threads weave a web that the whole world ensnares. Fire blazes on borders, a thunderous roar, Wisdom lies shattered — only anger grows there.

Second Verse ~ Digital Dark Age

The net of machines lies broken and torn,
All light has vanished, extinguished and gone. Knowledge burns down into ashes and dust, Darkness spreads wide as the shadows grow strong. With thunderbolts atomic our culture is rent, The future lies empty — where Death dances alone.

Third Verse  ~  Stone Age Regression

Once more the Stone Age awakens anew,
Humanity begs with an outstretched hand.
Weapons bring ruin, sharp blades bring lament, Hanuman cries out: “Cast off this folly, O man!”

Fourth Verse ~ The Dharmic Anchor

True strength is not forged in the heat of the fight, But rooted in peace, in the calm and the still. Without oneness and unity, all things shall fall, Every dream and creation lies broken at will. Hanuman prays for the welfare of all:
“Embrace the Eternal Truth, hold fast to Forgiveness — Break free from the wheel before it breaks you!”
